San Diego therapist Amy Shore has more than 18 years of experience in the field of psychology and has been licensed as a marriage and family therapist for over eight years. Her education includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from San Diego State University and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University.
She is regularly called upon to present at San Diego conferences and to general audiences on the topics of parenting, military issues, infertility and parent-child attachment.
Her therapeutic approach includes providing support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address life challenges. Using complementary methodologies and techniques, she provides a personalized approach specifically tailored for each client.
She is also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a powerful breakthrough therapy that has been successful helping people who suffer from trauma, anxiety, panic, disturbing memories, and post traumatic stress. Amy’s additional training includes TheraPlay, a child and family therapy for building and enhancing attachment, self-esteem, trust in others, and joyful engagement.
As a Level 1 trained Gottman Method Couple Therapist , Amy can also provide couples with the strategies such as how to communicate effectively, manage conflict and how to build and/or repair their friendship and love.
